Ninth class (STB) Computer Science explanation+MCQs

Ninth class (STB) Computer Science explanation + MCQs.

These MCQs are taken from Sindh Text of class Ninth Computer Book. These MCQs are helpful for competitive examinations conducted for government jobs such as Sukkur IBA Jobs of teaching and non-teaching. These MCQs can also be helpful for SPSC Sindh Public Service Commission Jobs, FPSC Federal Public Service Commission Jobs.

Helpful for SST BPS16 & Other Jobs.

Before going to the MCQs test of computer ninth class: lets look at main points of first chapter:

Learn generations of computer, the generations means time by time change or evaluation in field of computer.

1st generation of computer (1946-1959 (vacuum tube invented) )

2nd generation of computer (1959-1965 (transistor invented

3rd generation of computer (1965-1971(Integrated circuit invented )

4th generation of  computer (1971-present (microprocessor invented )

5th generation of computer ( Scientist are working on Artificial intelligence, to make human like machines, that may have be decision making powers)

Input device: by which we give commands to computer, like keyboard, mouse or scanner, while output devices that produce results after giving input (like: printer, monitor screen & loudspeakers), processor is an intermediate device between input / output devices, that get commands from input device and process that given command and then send results to output devices.

Lets say: I type my name Abdul Khalique through input device (keyboard), it sends message to processor, processor will process this message and will send it to output device (monitor/screen).

Storage devices: processors have to deal with storage devices, first the data is moved from secondary storage (hard drive) to primary storage (RAM), then RAM sends it to cache memory, after the cache memory,  it is sent to processor for processing the data.

What is high level & low level language?

Human understandable language is high level language & machine language (0,1) is low level language that is understood by computer machine only.

In the first generation of computers, programmers had to write Softwares (instructions) for computer in (0,1), after language translators: like assembler, compiler and interpretors, now programmers perform the job of software designing (programming) in high level language.

lets suppose in C++ (a programming language), when we write printf("Ahmed"), compiler(language translator) will convert high level (human understandable) language (print Ahmed) into machine language to make the computer print Ahmed on screen.

What is Software & state the types of software (System software, Application software & utility software)?

System software: a program that helps us to manage hardware resources (memory, CPU time, disk space, input and output devices).

Operating system is example of system software that starts first after switching on our computer.

Application Software:  A set of computer programs that work together to solve an specific problem.

Example: MS Office, Ulead video studio, corel draw & other applications installed as per the need of user.

Utility software: For repairing a computer or protecting it from virus, antivirus is example of utility software.

Soft copy: digital copy of a document in computer is soft copy (scanner does the job of converting a hard copy paper into soft copy).

Hard copy: a printed copy of a digital form document is called hard copy (a printer converts a soft copy (digital form document) to bring it on a paper.

What Topics we should study to get good marks in computer section?

Introduction to Computers: Basic concepts, history of computers, types of computers, computer hardware, and software.

Computer Components: Understanding the different components of a computer system, such as the central processing unit (CPU), memory, input/output devices, and storage devices.

Operating Systems: Basics of operating systems, different types of operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), file management, and system software.

Computer Networks: Fundamentals of computer networks, types of networks (e.g., LAN, WAN), network topologies, network protocols, and internet basics.

Computer Security: Fundamentals of computer security, types of threats (e.g., viruses, malware), protecting personal information, and safe internet practices.

To prepare for the Computer Science section, you should review your 6th to 9th grade computer science textbook and notes thoroughly. Pay close attention to these topics, understand the core concepts, and practice solving related problems or questions. You can also find online resources, practice quizzes, and sample papers to enhance your preparation and improve your understanding of the subject matter.

Additionally, it's advisable to stay updated with any specific guidelines or syllabus provided by the Sindh government or the relevant hiring authority. This will ensure that you are well-prepared for the Computer Science section of the job exam.
